Expression of HEP-G2 peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor gamma (PPARγ) gene; treatment of HEP-G2 cells with 50 ppm and 100 ppm of extracts showed upregulation of the gene, above normal (insulin) and control, to varying degrees. All extracts significantly upregulated the expression of the gene in comparison to control (p < 0.05) in a dose-dependent manner (n = 4), but when combined (100 ppm), they downregulated the gene.
