n-Butyrate up-regulates cyclo-oxygenase 2 (COX-2) expression in monocytes. Monocytes were incubated with 1 mm n-butyrate or medium and stimulated with 100 ng/ml lipopolysaccharide (LPS) for the time-points indicated. COX-2 expression was assessed by intracellular staining.
