Effects of All-trans retinoic acid (AT-RA) on the severity and clinical scores of experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE). EAE was induced in C57BL/6 mice by immunization with the MOG35–55 peptide. Mice were injected intraperitoneally with either AT-RA (300 μg/mice) or the vehicle control. Clinical severity was scored daily. Compared with the control group, EAE presentation in mice treated with AT-RA was delayed and less severe. Data are expressed as the mean ± SE and are representative of a minimum of four experiments. *P < 0·05, **P < 0·01, ***P < 0·001.
