Ophthalmic group committee
The constitution of the ophthalmic group committee provides for the rotational retirement of members of the committee elected on a regional basis. One member for each of the following (old) NHS regions is to be elected for the three year period 2001-2002, 2002-2003 and 2003-2004: Oxford, Trent, Wessex, West Midlands, Scotland and Wales.
Nominations are therefore invited from ophthalmologists in each of the above regions for 2001-2004. Nomination forms are available from, and must be returned not later than Friday 7 September 2001 to, the Secretariat, Ophthalmic Group Committee, BMA House, Tavistock Square, London WC1H 9JP (Tel: 020 7383 6180).
In the event of a contest, ophthalmologists in the constituency concerned will receive a ballot paper. Current members of the ophthalmic group committee are eligible for re-election.
