Died Jan. 11, 2004; survived by his wife, Elizabeth, and 3 sons. “He founded the International Council of Prison Medical Services in 1977 and was author of the Oath of Athens, a code of conduct for physicians working in prisons. He received the Canadian Penitentiary Service Award and many international awards for his commitment to raising awareness of mental heath issues.”
