Abstract

To obtain reliable information on viable microbial cells in incinerator stack emissions, a new sampling device has been developed that will concentrate microorganisms from large quantities of stack emissions into a small quantity of 0.067 m phosphate buffer. The simple, portable sampler provides a method for qualitative, nonisokinetic sampling, adjustable to isokinetic conditions that will yield quantitative results.
