Corrigendum

In the article by Aurora García-Dorado (GENETICS 190: 1461–1476) entitled “Understanding and Predicting the Fitness Decline of Shrunk Populations: Inbreeding, Purging, Mutation, and Standard Selection,” on page 1463, the equation in the sentence following Equation 8 has been revised. The sentence

…see Equation 1 in García-Dorado (2008), or the expression $g_t=g\{1-\left[\left(1-f_t\right){\left(1-d\right)}^t\right]$ given a few lines below it.

should read:

…see Equation 1 in García-Dorado (2008), or the expression $g_t=\widehat{g}\left\{1-\left[\left(1-f_t\right){\left(1-d\right)}^t\right]\right\}$ given a few lines below it.

This change does not affect any part of results reported, as the equation is a previous poor approximation, given as part of an explanatory paragraph.

Additionally, on page 1463, the expression for the purged coancestry coefficient of individual A with itself,

$$\mathrm{\gamma }\left(\text{AA}\right)=\left[1+f\left(\text{A}\right)\right]\left[1-2d\hspace{0.17em}f\left(\text{A}\right)\right]/2,$$

should read:

$$\mathrm{\gamma }\left(\text{AA}\right)=\left[1+g\left(\text{A}\right)\right]\left[1-2d\hspace{0.17em}f\left(\text{A}\right)\right]/2.$$

The correct expression was used in the simulation program, so the revision does not affect the validity of the results reported.
