Tim Bricker was an outstanding educator and clinician. He mentored dozens of trainees in pediatric cardiology. Students of all levels were drawn to him because of his kind and gentle teaching style and his encyclopedic fund of knowledge. While Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Baylor College of Medicine, he led one of the largest and most respected clinical, research, and training programs in the United States. He co-edited the major textbook of pediatric cardiology and authored more than 100 research papers. In behalf of the Texas Heart Institute Journal, Tim served on our Editorial Board for 12 years—from 1992 through 2004. He will be missed as a leader of pediatric cardiology, not only in the Texas Medical Center, but nationally and internationally as well.
