Abstract

This experimental study was aimed to compare the effectiveness of classroom dialogue-and a lesson in teaching the simulated recognition of signs and symptoms of stroke and clinical decisions, evaluating student satisfaction regarding the use of teaching strategies supported by new technologies. This research will provide understanding of how technology can support education Stroke, which is the third leading cause of death in the world.

Introdução

The Stroke is a leading cause of death and disability that affects the world. It is extremely important that the teachers of nursing are concerned with this issue in order to analyze the best teaching strategies that can promote a greater understanding of the recognition of signs and symptoms of stroke care and deployment of conduct for this patient.

Objetivos

Compare the effectiveness of teaching strategies of classroom lecture and simulated through dialogue. Assess the satisfaction of students about the use of tecnologiasno nursing education nursing degree.

Methodology

Population study and Sample This is a longitudinal study of quantitative approach. We performed a before and after experiment comparing student’s knowledge acquired at expositive classes and at simulated classes. The lack of relationship between dependent and independent variables was taken as the null hypothesis.

This study was carried out at the private Nursing School of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein (FEHIAE) in the city of São Paulo, Brazil.

Results

The results of this study showed the comparison knowledge acquired on stroke between experimental and control group regarding to first and second question of the instrument for data collection during the studied period.

The relationship of the studied group regarding question number 1 on recognition of signs and symptoms of stroke is described in table 1.
