Former consultant physician New Zealand (b Nayel near Medani, Sudan, 1946; q Khartoum 1968; FRCP), died from multi-organ failure on 2 May 2003.

Musaad Ali Musaad began his career at the Khartoum Teaching Hospital, Sudan, and trained to become a gastroenterologist at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. He later established the endoscopy department at the Jazeira Hospital, Abu Dhabi, and was actively involved in training students and doctors. In 1994 he emigrated to New Zealand, where he worked at Hawera Hospital, Taranaki, Palmerston North Hospital, and Middlemore Hospital in Auckland. He was a huge fan of Diana Ross, ABBA, and Ken Booth, and had complete collections of their music. He leaves a wife, Sana, and four children.
