I am happy to learn that Lung India is publishing special issue for abstracts of the conference during the NAPCON 2013 at Chennai. I wish to congratulate Dr. Virendra Singh Editor-in-Chief Lung India for coming up with such an idea that will be immensely useful for all participants, faculty members and particularly for postgraduates. It will help scientific community across the globe to understand the on-going research work in the field of respiratory medicine in India through PubMed.

It is my pleasure to inform you that the official journal of Indian Chest Society, Lung India is being published with new flavor and enriched scientific content regularly under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Virendra Singh, Jaipur. I hope that Lung India will continue to fulfill the needs of the chest physicians with more enhanced scientific content.

The Indian Chest Society, formed in the year 1980 at Mumbai, is a front line organization of qualified Chest Physicians of the country. The society held its 1st National Congress on Respiratory Diseases (NCRD) in September, 1981.Since then society has come a long way and now has over 1700 Chest Physicians as members on its roll.

I once again wish to congratulate Dr. Virendra Singh for his vibrant and far-sighted leadership that has taken Lung India to such enormous repute and I am hopeful with his efforts there are still many more milestones waiting to be achieved in near future.
