ACF7 localizes to cell-cell contacts in primary mKer. It remains to be addressed whether it is also associated to CLASP2 at these sites. Regarding MT minus-ends, their interaction with AJs in epidermal cells has not been experimentally validated. In simple epithelial cells different mechanisms of MT interactions with AJs have been proposed depending on the cell context. In particular, CLIP170, dynein and APC have been implicated in mediating the interaction of MT plus-ends with cadherin-based adhesions. The more mature AJs termed zonula adherens interact with MT minus-ends via the p120-PLEKHA7-Nezha complex.
