Penetration of (14C)-efinaconazole 10% solution does not appear to be influenced by nail polish

PMCID: PMC4263194  PMID: 25599721

In the article by Zeichner JA and collegues (J Clin Aesthet Dermatol 2014;7 34-6), it has been brought to our attention that the strength of efinaconazole solution used to determine penetration through the cadaver nails was 5% and not 10%. The authors do not believe that their conclusions would have been different had a 10% strength been used, since they were measuring the relative penetration of radiolabeled efinaconazole through the nail plate of the same formula.
