In the article “Vitamin D Deficiency and Cardiovascular Events in Patients With Coronary Heart Disease: Data From the Heart and Soul Study” (1), the authors incorrectly referenced the Vitamins and Lifestyle Study, a cohort study designed to evaluate the associations of supplement use with cancer risk. The last line of the Discussion should instead read, “These observations highlight the importance of randomized controlled trials, such as the ongoing Vitamin D and Omega-3 Trial (VITAL) Study (2), in determining whether vitamin D supplementation could play a role in the reducing the public health burden of CVD.”
