It is a great privilege to write a review for a book on Colorectal Surgery edited by Dr. Prabin B. Thapa and Dr. Dhiresh K. Maharjan.

The book provides comprehensive information about many aspects of colorectal surgery. It also includes the surgical anatomy and its relevance in total mesorectal excision (TME). Colorectal cancer has been dealt in details including neoadjuvant treatment and laparoscopic surgery. Advanced laparoscopic colorectal surgery and trends in colorectal cancer make the book more important for surgeons working in oncology field. A chapter on ‘Peritoneal Carcinomatosis’ can be a ‘new’ topic to learn for many readers. Rectal prolapse is also discussed in details.

The authors comprise from Nepal, New Zealand, England, India and Belgium. They have presented the subject in simple words with good flow and included review of literature. Editors must have done hard work to bring out the book. The book does not have chapters on common disease for general surgeons like on haemorrhoids, fistula, fissure, etc. which are found easily in any text book.
