This book represents review of common current problems in orthopedics. The author has suggested some age-old methods of treatment which can be followed in districts and mofussil places. In compilation of data, the author has given due importance to the Indian authors.

Common conditions like osteoarticular tuberculosis and its re-emergence have been discussed. The author has touched on limb salvage in tumors. The chapter on fracture healing provides insight into physiology of fracture healing. Controversies on internal fixation of fractures are discussed in the light of current knowledge. Postoperative implant infection is a big problem for all orthopedic surgeons. Its prevention and management is described. The surgical treatment of club foot has been emphasied.

The book delveds with only principles. The book is worthwhile reading and can be used as a basic book by orthopedic residents and practicing surgeons in the periphery.
