Total Hip Replacement Surgery - Principles and Techniques, written by two experts in the field, is an authoritative text book with a broad and comprehensive scope. The first edition has been released. The 12 chapters of this book provide a basic overview of various aspects of total hip replacement surgery. This is a very good book for orthopaedic residents and arthroplasty surgeons.

It can be a useful guide for all practitioners in their daily clinical practice; the beginner will find it especially helpful. The book is well illustrated with colored diagrams, which makes it easy to gain insights into various aspects of the procedure. This book has a chapter on the history of total hip replacement surgery that gives the reader a complete picture of the journey of the present hip prosthesis. It helps one understand the many problems that led to further innovations. There is an impressive chapter on implant systems and design that will help young surgeons understand the biomechanics behind each design. Thorough knowledge of all available options will allow the surgeon to select the right prosthesis for each patient. The chapter on preoperative planning, surgical technique, complications, and newer advances makes this book a complete one. The information is presented in a straightforward and concise manner and the authors have a lucid style.

We recommend this book for the surgeon's desk for easy and quick reference. This book will be useful not only to trainees but also to practicing orthopedic surgeons.
