TIMP-1, MMP-9/TIMP-1, active MMP-9 and pro MMP-9 assays. (a) GF cocultured with TAA samples lead to an increase of TIMP-1 at day 7 of culture (p = 0.0103), MMP-9/TIMP-1 complexes at day 7 and day 14 of culture (p < 0.0001), and the decrease of active MMP-9 at day 14 of culture. For AAA, there is an increase of TIMP-1 but it is significant only at day 14 (p = 0.004). There is also an increase of MMP-9/TIMP-1 complexes at day 14. There is not significant modification of active MMP-9 for AAA when GF is cocultured with AAA. (b) In the zymogram, the presence of GF lead to a decrease of pro MMP-9 for AAA and TAA. * p < 0.1. **p < 0.001. ***p < 0.0001
