Frank Richard Stanford Kellett

Former malariologist World Health Organization (b Simla, northern India, 1916; q Calcutta 1940; DPH), died from prostate cancer on 7 May 2004.

During the second world war Dr Kellett served in India and the Middle East. After the war he joined the Colonial Medical Service and served as a medical officer in St Lucia, British West Indies, for two years. He was then posted to Trinidad to work on the malaria eradication programme. He was a co-author of a number of papers on insecticides of malaria. He later joined the World Health Organization in New Delhi, where he was malariologist for the whole of the Far East. He leaves a wife, Kathleen, and three children.
