Correction for Ng et al., Selectivity for the configural cues that identify the gender, ethnicity, and identity of faces in human cortex

PMCID: PMC4568268  PMID: 26251344

NEUROSCIENCE Correction for “Selectivity for the configural cues that identify the gender, ethnicity, and identity of faces in human cortex,” by Minna Ng, Vivian M. Ciaramitaro, Stuart Anstis, Geoffrey M. Boynton, and Ione Fine, which appeared in issue 51, December 19, 2006, of Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (103:19552–19557; first published December 12, 2006; 10.1073/pnas.0605358104).

The authors wish to note, “We inadvertently used the term ‘hermaphrodite’ to describe gender-neutral face images and believe that the term may be offensive to the transgender community. Accordingly, we have requested that this term be removed from the article. This alteration in terminology does not change the scientific content of the article.” The online version has been corrected.
