Survival of C. coli 26536 in the liver and spleen (as indicated) of mice infected intravenously with 0.5–1.0 × 109 CFU C. coli 26536. At each indicated time, the mice were sacrificed, and the number of bacteria per organ was determined using the CFU assay.
