Case of extensive necrosis of the oesophageal mucosa following hypothermia

Abstract

A case of necrosis of the oesophageal mucosa following hypothermia in a man of 83 is described, and the histological findings are compared with those of similar cases in the records of the Central Histological Laboratory. The condition is discussed in the light of similar lesions occurring in cases of hypothermia reported by other authors.
