NOTE FROM THE EDITOR

With this issue RNA has adopted a new and improved authors’ publication charges policy. From now on the costs to publish in RNA will be a flat fee of $1000 for members of the RNA Society and $1500 for nonmembers. These changes were made for several reasons including simplicity and competitiveness with peer journals. Most importantly, the removal of color charges encourages submission from structural biologists and cell biologists whose work requires extensive use of color. I remind authors that RNA is committed to rigorous and fair review by experts in the field. All editors are active working scientists who know their area(s) of expertise and strive for fairness throughout the review process. Finally, if authors want their work to be seen by a knowledgeable and appreciative audience, there is no better place to publish than RNA.
