Abstract

KARL STORZ presents its new full HD camera platform IMAGE 1 SPIES^TM, a new milestone in endoscopic imaging. IMAGE 1 SPIES^TM stands for Storz professional image enhancement system and provides users with versatile visualization options for operation and diagnosis. Three innovative technologies for visualization are integrated in the new camera system: SPIES CLARA^TM, SPIES CHROMA^TM and SPIES SPECTRA^TM. SPIES CLARA^TM provides homogeneous illumination of the endoscopic image by brightening dark areas. This is determined dynamically, in order to make up the optimum image brightness. SPIES CHROMA^TM is a technology for contrast enhancement, it which display of structures is intensified. With the third technology, SPIES SPECTRA^TM, certain areas of the color spectrum are more strongly emphasized with a color shift. The goal of all SPIES^TM visualization modes is that, by differentiating tissue structures from one another, the user gets the best possible support in the operating room. A simple differentiation of the tissue structures will ultimately lead to safer and more efficiently performed operations.
