Textbook of Orthodontics

Reviewed by: Vineet Sharma 1

This well illustrated book has been compiled by a respected academician and clinician in the field of orthodontics. The format of the book is reader-friendly. The book contains 31 chapters some of which are unique to it e.g. the chapter on ‘Behavioral Considerations in Orthodontic Treatment’ and ‘Orthodontics and Craniomandibular Disorders’. The book also devotes a full chapter to facial asymmetries which is an emerging area of interest in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics. The comprehensive nature of the book makes it an attractive acquisition for all dental students.

The Indian Edition of the book is priced very affordably at Rs.595/-, the illustrations do though suffer from the reduction in quality which sadly, detracts from the book's readability. The original ISBN:0-7216-8289 is highly recommendable for any library.
