This is an excellent book on Paediatric Endocrine disorders published in India for the first time, It has contributions from National and International authors.

Endocrine disorders are not very common in children and adolescents but they should be diagnosed early and treated appropriately to prevent long term effects in a growing child. This is a comprehensive book giving clear guidelines for paediatricians on when to suspect an endocrine problem, laboratory tests to be performed and reference to paediatric endocrinologist.

The topics of growth, puberty, sexual differentiation, diabetes. thyroid, adrenals etc have been well covered. However, there are a few drawbacks in the book. There should have been an introductory chapter with a general discussion on clinical features in endocrine disorders. There are too many abbreviations in the text and some tables have numerous arrows and long legends.

Despite all these drawbacks this book is strongly recommended for all postgraduate students and paediatricians.
