Correction
In the article by Goto et al, “Association Between Severe Hypoglycemia and Cardiovascular Disease Risk in Japanese Patients With Type 2 Diabetes,” which published online March 9, 2016, and appeared in the March 2016 issue of the journal ( J Am Heart Assoc. 2016;5:e002875 doi: 10.1161/JAHA.115.002875), several corrections are needed.
-
On page 2, in the right column, under the heading “Study Participants”, first paragraph, the seventh and eighth sentences read, “Finally, we excluded 2661 patients who did not have an observation at 6 months before the first claim for a glucose lowering agent prescription. Patients with <6 months of claim data were assigned an index date of 6 months after the first claim data.” They have been corrected to read, “Finally, we excluded 2661 patients who did not have 6 months of baseline observation data. Patients with <6 months of claim data before the first claim for a glucose?lowering agent prescription were assigned an index date of 6 months after their first claim data.”
The author regrets the error.

On page 2, in the right column, under the heading “Study Participants”, first paragraph, the ninth sentence read, “For patients with ≤6 months of claim data, the index date was the first claim date of using a glucose?lowering agent.” It has been changed to read, “Meanwhile, patients with ≥6 months of claim data before the first claim for a glucose?lowering agent prescription were assigned an index date defined as the first claim date of using a glucose?lowering agent.”
The publisher regrets the error.
