Dr. Gaetano Santulli is a physician scientist (cardiologist) working at Columbia University Medical Center in New York (NY). He earned his MD and PhD from the University of Naples “Federico II”, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship at Columbia University. He has expertise in both clinical and basic research. His research interests include heart failure [1-3], diabetes mellitus [4, 5], adrenergic signaling [1, 6], intracellular calcium release [7], mitochondrial function [4], microRNA [8], angiogenesis [9], coronary heart disease [10], hypertension [11-13], aging [5, 14-17], atrial fibrillation [18, 19], atherosclerosis [20], and cardiac resynchronization therapy [21-23]. He is currently funded by the National Institutes of Health. He is included among the Top Italian Scientists (VIA Academy). He is the author of several medical books, member of esteemed international associations, and associate editor of numerous prestigious scientific journals.
