In Professor Abbott's book review of FDA in the Twenty-First Century: The Challenges of Regulating Drugs and New Technologies, he notes that in reviewing Genevieve Pham-Kanter's chapter, “Conflicts of Interest in FDA Advisory Committees: The Paradox of Multiple Financial Ties,” he did not see disclosed that it was previously published in the Milbank Quarterly. While this chapter did not contain the same standardized disclosure statement as the other chapters which summarized already published works, Professor Pham-Kanter did note within the body of the chapter that more information on the study could be found elsewhere and cited the original Milbank Quarterly article.
