The composition of the simulated lipid bilayer is incorrectly described in the Materials and Methods section. The second sentence under the heading “Simulation parameters” should read:

We used standard lipid parameters for POPE (1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl phosphatidylethanolamine) (46), POPG (1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl phosphatidylglycerol) (47), and peptides (48).

The first sentence under the heading “System assembly and membrane buckling” should read:

We assembled and equilibrated three rectangular (Lx = 2Ly) bilayer patches of 1024 lipids each, with 70% POPE and 30% POPG, solvated with ∼21,000 coarse-grained water beads and neutralized with sodium ion beads.
