Page 2511, Fig. 6: The images shown in Fig. 6C and D were mistakenly generated using the translational start sites for herpes simplex virus 1 (HSV-1) genes rather than the transcriptional start sites. To our knowledge, a complete and accurate annotation of all HSV-1 transcriptional start sites is not available at this time, preventing correction of the panels. This does not impact the primary focus and conclusions of the paper regarding the near-complete loss of RNA polymerase II (Pol II) occupancy on the host cell genome after infection. We regret the mistake regarding the localization of Pol II occupancy on HSV-1 genes. Conclusions made regarding the position of RNA Pol II with respect to HSV-1 transcriptional start sites should be disregarded, as delineated below.
