Alexandra Tobert was a medical student and house officer in London during the Blitz, surviving a bomb hit on the Royal Free Hospital in 1944. From working in family planning and marriage guidance clinics, she developed an interest in psychosexual medicine. Alexandra worked in private practice and at the Psychosexual Problem Clinic, Nottingham Health District, Nottingham. After retirement she joined Victim Support and helped victims of sexual assault and other crimes. She died from a dementing illness and bronchopneumonia 12 hours after the death of her husband, Gerald. She leaves four children and 10 grandchildren.
