MICROBIOLOGY. For the article “Genomic DNA double-strand breaks are targets for hepadnaviral DNA integration,” by Colin A. Bill and Jesse Summers, which appeared in issue 30, July 27, 2004, of Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA (101, 11135-11140; first published July 16, 2004; 10.1073/pnas.0403925101), due to a printer's error, the last sentence of the abstract incorrectly read, “The results suggest that integration of hepadnaviral DNA in infected livers occurs at sites of DNA damage and may indicate the presence of more widespread genetic changes caused by viral DNA integration itself.” It should have read, “The results suggest that integration of hepadnaviral DNA in infected livers occurs at sites of DNA damage and may indicate the presence of more widespread genetic changes beyond that caused by viral DNA integration itself.”
