Former consultant community paediatrician Bridgend (b Nantymoel 1941; q Welsh National School of Medicine 1965), died from myeloma on 25 July 2004.

Having married Keith while she was a fourth year medical student, she sat her finals three weeks after the birth of their first child. Initially she worked part time, mainly in general practice. Sessional work in community paediatrics led her to take up a full time clinical medical officer post in 1976, working in both child health and family planning. She became a consultant in 1998. After retirement in 2001 she successfully completed a City & Guilds horticulture course. She leaves Keith, five children, and six grandchildren.
