Location of hyaluronan on the surface of infected Chlorella variabilis NC64A cells and ultrastructural changes in the algal cell wall after chlorovirus Paramecium bursaria chlorella virus type 1 (PBCV-1) infection. The figure shows the cross-sections of (A) the surface of the uninfected cells; (B) cells at 4 h post-infection (PI); and (C) cells at 4 h PI that were treated with hyaluronan lyase.
