Former general practitioner Littlehampton and Arundel, Sussex (b Windermere 1905; q London 1930; DPM), d 4 March 2004.
After house jobs at the London Hospital, Whitechapel, he went into general practice in Sussex. He was a medical officer in the Home Guard during the second world war, course doctor at Fontwell and Goodwood racecourses, and he ran busy private and NHS practices. He was a keen gardener and enjoyed golf, shooting, racing, and the theatre until late in life. Predeceased by his wife, Mary, he leaves four sons and eight grandchildren.
