Former general practitioner Ipoh, Malaysia (b Guangdong 1919; q Cambridge/The London Hospital 1943; MRCP, DTM&H), died on 1 January 2005 following a heart attack.
Yok came to the United Kingdom as a 1935 Queen's scholar from Malaya. Qualifying during the war, he was involved in the early clinical trials on penicillin. In 1947 he returned to Malaya and set up as a general practitioner serving the people of Ipoh for nearly 50 years. He was an active Rotarian and a faithful member of his church. He leaves a wife and three children.
