The authors regret that Figure 3 was printed with the panels incorrectly labeled. The following legend accurately describes the figure as it was published:

In addition, the authors regret that the bacterial strain and plasmids used in this work were incorrectly designated. The correct designations are as follows:

The bacterial strain used throughout was Pseudomonas syringae pv tomato DC3000 carrying either the empty plasmid vector pVSP61 or the pVSP61/avrRpm1 construct as described in Bisgrove et al. (1994) and not Psm(pCR105) and Psm(avrRpm1) as stated.
