Former general practitioner Sunderland (b Warsaw, Poland, 1908; q Warsaw University 1935), d 6 January 2005.
Anna did house jobs in the University Hospital, Warsaw, and in the Children's Hospital. She then specialised in paediatrics between 1937 and 1946. When she came to Britain in 1946 she did a six-month postgraduate course at the Institute of Child Health, London University, followed by junior hospital posts in various parts of England. In December 1958 she set up her own general practice in Sunderland and continued until 1969 when she joined Sunderland health department as a departmental medical officer.
