MEDICAL SCIENCES Retraction for “Signaling through hepatocellular A2B adenosine receptors dampens ischemia and reperfusion injury of the liver,” by Michael A. Zimmerman, Almut Grenz, Eunyoung Tak, Maria Kaplan, Douglas Ridyard, Kelley S. Brodsky, Mercedes Susan Mandell, Igal Kam, and Holger K. Eltzschig, which appeared in issue 29, July 16, 2013, of Proc Natl Acad Sci USA (110:12012–12017; first published June 28, 2013; 10.1073/pnas.1221733110).

The authors wish to note: “We were informed by the Office of Research Integrity of the University of Colorado of the inappropriate duplication of several histological images in Figs. 2 A and D, 3 AC, S2B, and S3B of our recent PNAS paper. There were no findings of scientific misconduct made against any of the authors. The problems with the histologic slides appear to be due to honest errors. We apologize to our colleagues and the scientific community for any inconvenience this might have caused. Based on these concerns, we request to retract our paper.”
