Boxplots showing the distribution of mRNA t1/2 determined for different bacterial species: Escherichia coli (Bernstein et al., 2002), Bacillus cereus (Kristoffersen et al., 2012), Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Rustad et al., 2013), and C. trachomatis, E/CS1025-11 and L2b/CS19-08 strains (this study). Regarding the global half-life time of these bacteria, statistically significant differences (one-way ANOVA test) were found between the L2b/CS19-08 strain and E. coli, B. cereus, and M. tuberculosis (P < 0.01), whereas the E/CS1025-11 strain only differ from E. coli (P < 0.05), probably due to the wider range of t1/2 of this C. trachomatis strain.
