USA (97, 14467–14472), the authors note the following: “The discovery described by Shin et al. in this paper was the subject of U.S. patent application no. PCT/US00/09355 filed on behalf of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services on April 9, 1999, and internationally on April 6, 2000. M. W. Smith, H. D. Shin, and S. J.
