Correction

GENETICS. For the article “Developmental abnormalities and epimutations associated with DNA hypomethylation mutations” by Tetsuji Kakutani, Jeffrey A. Jeddeloh, Susan K. Flowers, Kyoko Munakata, and Eric J. Richards, which appeared in number 22, October 29, 1996, of Proc. Natl. Acad. Sci. USA (93, 12406–12411), the authors note that the mutant allele used in experiments in Figs. 1 and 4 and Table 1 was ddm1-1, not ddm1-2.
