ISRS 2011
The 10th Biannual Congress of ISRS was held successfully. The Society also celebrated the 20th anniversary at this congress, starting with a presentation of the ISRS’ history and its formation by Dade Lunsford (Society founding member). Major strength of the ISRS congress is the multi-disciplinary expertise participation and diversity of the topics covered. As body radio surgery became popular, balance between Body and Brain lectures in the programme are determined by the abstracts submitted. By the creative work of Scientific Committee, the balance between body and brain was well kept with parallel sessions. Special thanks to Jean Regis, Congress chair, and Marc Levivier, chair of Scientific Committee, and local organizing committee.
Over 740 participants attended the ISRS 2011 congress in Paris. Despite the natural disaster in Japan, their dedication and attendance were appreciated. The educational seminar was well received with 220 delegates who are in-training and already in-practice. Scientific quality of plenary and oral sessions improved. The poster sessions attracted increasing interaction between authors and viewers. A record number of 476 abstracts were submitted, which led to an expansion of posters to two poster sessions. Social events were entertaining and helped build camaraderie of all the attendees from various backgrounds.

ISRS 2013
The 11th congress will take place in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, 16-20 in June 2013.
It is a pleasure to announce that the ISRS 2013 meeting will be held in Toronto, Ontario, Canada during June 16-20, 2013. Toronto is easily accessible from all major cities around the world and the official hotel, The Sheraton, is located in the heart of downtown Toronto. It is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the world with lots to offer. We have world class theater, opera, fine dining, and museums to enjoy. Not too far away are the Niagara Falls and Niagara wine regions. Toronto has also been a leader in radiosurgery with its program starting right at the beginning of brain radiosurgery in North America. We are also a leader in spine radiosurgery that will likely develop, similar to brain radiosurgery, into a routine clinical therapy for patients. The University of Toronto is one of the largest programs in the world, both in neurosurgery and in radiation oncology. We have lots to offer to make the ISRS 2013 a major success, just like this year in Paris.
