In the original article, an initial was omitted for the author Greg G Neely which is now corrected.

In addition in the method section describing the ‘Hyperinsulinaemic-euglycaemic clamp technique’ the incorrect term ‘anesthetized’ was used but mice were actually ‘conscious’ during this procedure. This correction does not affect the interpretation of the conclusions, and the authors sincerely apologize to the readers for these oversights.

Glucose Homeostasis Assessment and Serum Assays

Hyperinsulinaemic-euglycaemic clamps were performed on conscious mice after 5 h fasting and glucose uptake determined at the end of the clamp after bolus 2-[1-14C]-deoxyglucose administration as described in Supplemental Experimental Procedures.
