We used the Y-shaped morphology and the 4 × 4 electrode setup to investigate the effect of using various basis numbers for the reconstruction. L1 error was calculated to compare the results for basis with M=32,128,512,1024 elements, for several values of basis width R and λ. With few basis sources one cannot recover CSD properly. As the number of basis functions increases, the reconstruction error is minimized for moderate values of λ and for narrow basis sources, which can best resolve small details of the CSD to be reconstructed.
