(A) The effect of agrin supplementation on the expression of the EMT marker vimentin. Increasing concentrations of agrin caused an upregulation of vimentin expression and a lowering of E-cadherin expression. (B) Cells supplemented with 3-μm agrin showed a marked increase in their ability to proliferate. (C and D) Wound-healing (C) and transwell migration (D) assays showing the metastatic and invasive ability of the cells. Both the invasive and metastatic ability of the cells supplemented with 3-μm agrin increased in comparison with the controls.
