The original version of this article unfortunately contained two mistakes in the Abstract and the Discussion sections that the authors would like to correct.
1. The genotypic frequencies of cases and controls in the Abstract are incorrect. It was published as “The genotype GG, GA, and AA had a frequency of 0.70, 0.27, and 0.03 in controls and of 0.89, 0.10, and 0.01 in patients”, and it should say “The genotype GG, GA, and AA had a frequency of 0.70, 0.27, and 0.03 in patients and of 0.89, 0.10, and 0.01 in controls” (the words “patients” and “controls” were inadvertently switched).
2. In the Discussion, in the second paragraph, the sentence”....The A allele frequency was higher than in previous reports (0.94 vs 0.84)...” should say “The G allele frequency was higher than in previous reports (0.94 vs 0.84)...”. The allele was incorrectly given.
