(a) In the absence (top, left panel) and presence (top, middle panel) of IFT-70(DYF-1), the velocity of OSM-3G444EHalo is indistinguishable but incorporation into the QCC (top, right panel) significantly increases the motor’s velocity. p-values (from a two-tailed t-test assuming unequal variances): 0.013; ¥2.5*10-18; #3.4*10-15. (b and c) Consistently, QCC fully activates the OSM-3Flag and OSM-3SNAP but not the IFT-70(DYF-1) subunit alone. p-values: &9.6*10-25; 1.8*10-12. N= number of events obtained from three different flow chambers from n=3 independent experiments (velocities fit to a Gaussian distribution ± SD).
