Transverse ultrasound image of the liver demonstrating a 3 centimeter heterogeneous lesion in the left inferior liver edge (indicated by measurement calipers). This particular lesion retrospectively corresponded with the area of subtle T2 hyperintensity on initial whole body MRI and is also the lesion that would ultimately get resected (with pathology confirming focal nodular hyperplasia). Several additional similar-appearing lesions were also detected on this ultrasound study (not included in this image).
